The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre Theatre

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre theatre has 346 seats and it provides a warm, intimate atmosphere popular with both performers and audiences. The seating is very comfortable, with leg room and every seat in the house has an excellent view of the stage. The Q Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre theatre design and configuration provides opportunity for live theatre productions, concerts, forums, conferences, conventions, movies, music or film festivals, award ceremonies, digital, video and audio recordings, television or radio broadcasts, HSC exam performances, performing arts workshops, etc.

The venue offers technical facilities including sound and lighting desks, an orchestra pit which can be covered, dressing rooms and a computerised box office. The venue has bar facilities, lounge and cafe areas, and disabled access.

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre provides Front of House staff, Ushers, Box Office and Bar staff when required. It is the policy of the venue that a staff member must be in attendance to assist hirers when required.

Mobility Access

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre has wheelchair seating available in Seats 24 - 28 Row B and mobility access seating available in Seats 25-29 Row C. These seats can only be booked through the Box Office on 6285 6290 and are not available through on-line web ticketing. Please indicate your requirements at the time of booking.

Hearing Assistance

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre has infra-red assistive listening equipment available to help enhance the enjoyment of performances for those patrons who may be hearing impaired. The receiver units can be used in conjunction with the neckloop telecoil couplers available for use by patrons whose hearing aids are equipped with a telephone coil (T-Switch). For those patrons who do not use hearing aids but require the sound to be amplified, the units are compatible with a wide variety of earphones and headphones which plug directly into the receiver units. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own earphones or headphones where possible. The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre Exhibition Program aims to display exhibitions of local, regional, state and national prominence. A regular changing program of outstanding visual arts, crafts and design exhibitions will be displayed. The program will be both broad and responsive, and aim to cater for the needs and interests of all age groups.

In aiming to assist the ongoing development of Australian art the exhibition program will also include exhibitions of innovative work by contemporary artists and young emerging artists. The exhibition program will aim to support talented and professional artists whose work is innovative, reflects the highest standards in concept, style and technique and has cultural or regional significance.

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre Exhibition Space provides a stunning venue for a wide variety of art exhibitions by local and national artists and touring exhibitions from regional, state and national galleries. These touring and professional exhibitions are complimented with active promotional, educational, and advertorial programs targeting the local community and visitors to the region. Community exhibitions are promoted through editorial in the local newspapers.

The Exhibition space is also the perfect location to host an elegant dinner or cocktail party, intimate cabaret show or as a lecture room (subject to availability), and catering is available on request. The exhibition space is located within the newly completed Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre, centrally located in Queanbeyans CBD.

The natural light and flexible layout of the exhibition space, teamed with the halogen lighting system and versatile track hanging system culminate in a highly desirable exhibition space. The exhibition space is a generous 14 x 8 metres.

The Light Well

A magnificent foyer and stairwell are to be found in The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre and they lead the viewers eye to the Light Well exhibition space. This grand exhibition space is certainly a one of a kind in the local area and the region, measuring 4m high and 20m long. The space is beautifully lit by natural light throughout the day and complemented by halogen light at night. The opportunity to exhibit very large artworks outside of a major institution is a rare occurrence and one The Queanbeyan Council is proud to promote.

This unique exhibition space provides the exhibitor the opportunity to target The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre theatre audience as they make their way through the busy thoroughfare to take up their seats in the theatre, and again during and after intermission. During normal opening hours, visitors to The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre will be able to access all the exhibition spaces.

The large exhibition space is a fantastic area where works can be hung on either side of the Entracte walls, using the track hanging system. It is the perfect location for visitors to view a wide range of works, from large photographic works to miniature paintings, to works on paper. The space allows the exhibitor to, where possible, display works that may complement or reflect on the current theatre performance; therefore directly targeting a captive market.

The Q - Queanbeyan Performing Arts Centre VIP Boardroom

Offering complete privacy, the VIP Boardroom, adjacent to the exhibition space and situated on the first level, is ideal for special meetings and small presentations. This magnificent room features a floor-to-ceiling glass wall and accommodates 14 people around the boardroom table.
