1. RICHMOND TASMANIA
It may surprise you it's not sandy beaches and ocean waves that has taken out the most photographed town but the quaint town of Richmond in Tasmania has wowed tourists and locals.
Travelling far and wide to snap the historical town the big draw point is the over 200 year old Richmond Bridge. Built by convicts in the 1920s it was made entirely of sandstone and complete over a five-year period by 1925. Feeding ducks and enjoying the view from the river bank is a popular activity.

Less surprising to make the list is the trendy town of Byron Bay coming in second place with around 3.3 million Instagram tags and 991 pins on Pinterest.
Fine dining beautiful beaches and the iconic lighthouse is popular to snap the perfect picture.
The homes varied from luxury coastal living to hinterland wonders.

3. NOOSA QUEENSLAND
The popular Sunshine Coast town has made it to third place captured more than 1.7 million times by social media users.
